Hi

I am looking for a spare carrier tire and can't find any pictures how it looks like and where it is attached. Has anyone pictures of the original spare carrier system on a J75? I have a 1993 HZJ75 model.
I am sick of lifting the wheel by hand with my wife, it's not fun anymore!

Thank you!

Ute... it's a 1993 HZJ75 PICKUP.
I have a big rectangular bracket going from the rear support straight to the wheel carrier. I don't see how I should be able to install any kind of spare wheel carrier or did the Pickup not have this provision?
I also have the big support going from right to left, but that all cars have as much as I saw. I just have this additional support from the rear to the center of the wheel carrier support...

we lift the wheel UNDER the car (behind the rear axle). Not fun with 285's and J8 steel wheels, especially if the bottom is dirty! To get it down is not hard, but to get it back up is hell!

As you can hopefully see in my avatar, my spare is mounted against the cab in the forward portion of the rear bed.

I can't do that.. I have the cabin installed on the bed.... check out the link in my signature, you will see what I mean ;)

The spare wheel carrier is surely original on my car, but has no chain provision to lift it... I am looking for a picture of this, I really don't see where I would install it and how it would work...

All J7 I see here in Bolivia have a 2nd tank from Toyota where my spare wheel is...

Sorry I couldn't help. My Aussie truck also has the dual tank setup.

there are no auto parts recyclers here... I planed to order a new one from Toyota BUT need to know if it really fits my car. I just can't see where I would install this, I see no space besides the wheel carrier that holds the wheel with 3 studs.,,

today I looked on an FJ45 and saw that the wheel was hold by the chain ONLY!!! On my setup it's totally different... it's bolted to that support with 3 lug nuts and the support is a solid piece that is attached to the frame... is that original? I guess I would have to remove this and install the chain setup, but will it hold a 16x8 J8 steel wheel with 285?!

here a picture of my setup... on the left you see the galvanized part where the wheel gets attached...

thanks guys! Will look for this chain then! I can't get it here in Bolivia (2-3 month order time!), they only had the J10 setup with steel cable and there are no junkyards around.

It sounds the 75 series with the under the chassis wheel mount is similar to a 60 series, maybe some parts off a 60 would work.
