Pretty productive Friday evening and Saturday. Cleaned off spring and shackle hangers from rear frame, located the new rear axle, and set the pinion angle:

english(ing-a-Lesh) only........ In the "Saga" forum please.....This is serious s***,......!...

This is where s*** got serious. A quick Georgle suggested that it was best to preload the housing prior to welding on it...to help combat warping etc. Easy enough:

Then Jrob went to town nuking all this s*** together...1 - 2 inch stitch welds at the time, allowing it to completely cool between passes:

Between this build and Cam's trip log from the valley of double rainbows and unicorns, this little slice of the internet is bringing the goods. You guys are kicking butt. I'd love to get down there at some point to help although I'm afraid I would be more in the way than helpful. You guys have your s*** dialed in.

you can sit by me and smoke cigars. I can teach you the finer points of heckling...

J to the mf'n T, is a little modest to say the least....my part was easy! While I was "nuking" as he said.... He cleaned off the rear inner frame rails getting ready for the box kit and mount, trust me...this was no easy task as of a few years ago I had "thrown" a few extra pieces of metal in there!!!!

Thanks for all the help this week Jeffery......(ok Bodean, for those that don't know Jeffery)

CT, you welcome at my fire any time!

PM, we welcome you anytime.....me and J the mf'n T will probably need some shots from your brother sometime soon!!!!....at least I know I will!!!(tendonitis in elbow for those that are curious)

This weeks schedule:
Sunday-off
Monday-off
Tuesday- finish truss and upper link mounts
Wednesday-box in rear frame, begin installing front frame mounts
Thursday-finish any of the above/begin on more s***
Friday/Saturday/Sunday- listen to music, drink beer, fab up frame shock mounts, drink beer and what ever else we come across.

Of course Bossman, Fergie Ferg, and anyone else is always welcome!!!!

Looking good. Very good progress. Any plans to put a drain on the truss so water does not collect and sit on the top of the axle tube?

Yes, very nice catch there Charles....thanks!

The wife is taking the kids to see her folks in Baton Rouge this week. So, I can knock off work early on the Tuesday or Wednesday slot and head your way. I have to drop a wounded soldier (tire) at Chris's shop anyway. Feel free to put me to work or I am happy to sit in the smoking/heckling section too. Either way, I learn something new.
