Hi all,
I've found a couple FJ62's that are about to be crushed at a salvage yard. One's got a really sweet body - silver/brown with brown interior - the other one is white, but I haven't seen it. Many of the parts are interchangeable with a '60. I just snagged the rear sway bar & mounting hardware for my '85 FJ60.

Anyhow, I just hate to see them trashed like that and *might* be willing to pick up and ship the parts if anybody is interested.
Here's their site, and you are looking for an 90 or 89 land cruiser:
Barger Auto Parts

Cheers

I'd definitely take the brown front seat belts, if good condition. Both sides, and the short belt sections next to the console...

Thanks!

yes sven if the deal is good and you were willing to bring some stuff with you that would be great. Now lets see if we can get him to get some parts off the 60 before its too late

I didn't realize there would be so much interest. The tranny and front fenders are gone on the brown one, and they managed to dent the driver's side front door with a wheel when they set it on it (it's not too bad), but the rest of the body is OK. All but the passenger side glass is in, but they won't sell the back glass (far back) separate from the hatch cover.

Most of the dash and controls are still there, but I don't know about rear seat belts. I seem to recall the front seats being in good shape. Can't tell you about the back because they had parts piled back there.

Both bumpers are gone, but it just occurred to me that I have one I don't need now that I built my wench bumper, so I suppose it is up for sale.

All this stuff is in Boise, ID. We don't use salt here and it is fairly dry (15 inches rainfall a year), so the odds are good that body parts will be rust free.

I just realized what I set myself up for. I don't know how to make sure I don't go buy a part for someone, then have them change their mind, and I'm left holding the bag. Any ideas?

As to cutting, welding, etc, I've got all that stuff, i'm just not sure how to get it into the junk yard. Maybe just buy the whole vehicle? If there is enough responses to buy the vehicle(s) from them, I guess that's the way to go. I'll call them today and find out what they'll take for it.

Ok, it seems I passed on miss-information. A buddy of mine said the cruiser was scheduled for crushing - but they are not currently scheduled. Also, they won't let me buy them - one was impounded and the other has title issues. A rear 1/4 panel runs $250, and the whole back end is $500 plus shipping that beast to you, for those that ask, seat belts are $45.

So if any of you really want me to get parts for you, I'll need the money in hand before I go to the salvage yard and pay for it, or you can call them, pay for it tell them I'll be in to pick it up, then I can box it and estimate shipping, you can pay me for shipping, then I'll ship it out. Barger's number is (800)846-2774 or 853-2002 for those in state.

It makes me want to start my own 'cruiser salvage business, but my wife would kill me.

Seat belts are $45 -

Is that each? Or for the Pair (fronts only) WITH the short piece next to console?

I'd Paypal ahead if you're willing to spend the time time to get them...

:)

I need the sway bar mounts (I've already got a sway bar) from the 62. Same as Spike--I have no problem sending the money first (please include your time), then paying for shipping when that comes around.

Actually, I could use a few parts from the 62. I'll send over a PM.

seat belts are $45 each - I assume it includes both ends of it.

I'll have to check to see if the sway bar mounts are left.
