Toyota LandCruiser 70 double-cab due September | carsguide.com.au

I can't believe they built it with the wheel arch in it! Looks like a rush job. Square that door off and I agree with Clint79, let's get a wellback on it, see how that looks.

Yes ,its just a 76 series with 300mm and a tray added.I was hoping they would have squared off the door as well.

Make no mistake they have done it as cheaply as possible primarily for the mines! Inside floor pan is probably the same as a 76 too with the old wheel arch in there, would be a weird little cavity hiding I think.

I want one, GXL please with some 33'' Toyo muds

And a 130ltr tank

And a 130ltr tank

130ltr tank is on the new 76 series too!

Yes I saw that too. I guess they are like the 73/74 series where there is not enough room for 2x90 litre tanks.
Long Ranger have a larger tank ,166 litres for the 76 and a 180 litre tank that they say fits all models.

What's that 1800km range? You could do Cairns to Brisbane without refuelling. Real shame about that rear door.

Is there a styleside tray on the way?

You mean the factory tub? Unlikely, they have built these for the miners and if they can sell a few to the recreational crowd ,that just icing on the cake.
In any case the factory tub was deleted from the option list in oz in 06,but other markets still have them

.... "In any case the factory tub was deleted from the option list in oz in 06" .....
Now everyone has to have bungee cords to keep their cargo from flying everywhere. Great for the bungee cord industry I guess.

Cargo needs to be tied down regardless. The tub may have its fans for asthetic reasons ,but the tray wins hands down for practicality,it will actually take a king size mattress laid down flat(6'x8') and you still have room underneath for 2 spares or larger fuel tanks;).
With the fold down sides and tray at waist height it is also much more ergonomically kinder on the back.

Because its really a 87 litre tank, which is the absolute amount I have ever got in there

I don't like running mine low.
Most I have done pushing it is like 75.

I think the recreational crowd will go spastic over it. It's like the first Landcruiser dual cab ever. Maybe towards the end of it's life they'll do a sports version with the factory tub, fast glass and two tone paint on a set of wheels.
