sort of....

Finially had a chance to fix the wiring on my HJ60. My rear quarter panels pretty much disintegrated, allowing water/sand/salt and other road grime to infiltrate my body panels. Needless to say the electrical connections were pretty corroded. It has been sitting for close to 2 years as I no longer had any tail, stop or signal lights, nor did I have to time to do anything about it!

Last night I soldered the last of the wires together and it all seems to work as it should.

Now all I have to do is figure out a good way to patch up the holes in my panels so I won't have to do it again...

Awesome. Are you wanting to patch the quarters up to the stock profile? or chop them off a bit higher and run a flat fill piece between the inner and outer?

I will likely cut them higher up and fill the bottom. I plan on taking it out to the lake this summer so I'm going for a quick temporary fix. Ideally, I would like to build a custom rear bumper that wraps around and mimics the stock profile. Don't know if I will have time for that anytime soon though....

I rewired the rear lights on my HJ60 on the weekend as well.
I couldn't believe how badly the PO hacked up the lights when wiring a trailer harness.

It's amazing what a bad ground connection can do to your lights!

I thought I had a good ground on my temporary setup, but it turns out the jumper I was using wasn't hooked up very good. I suspected something was amiss, but I didn't know how bad it was until we checked it all out at Don Cherry's on Friday night. I don't think I can describe how screwed up the lights were!

When I got home I hooked up the ground to a clean spot on the frame and bingo....everything worked as it should!

I still can't believe how much chaos a bad ground connection can cause...
