Glad to hear that you got it crankin'. Now you can wheel in style, with AC and tunes and shade over your noggin. Next project will be puttin' AC in the 40 cause you're gonna' get soft and need "air" just like that OTHER GUY that has air in his 40.

No air planned for the 40, other than more air under the truck when it get's stretched out and 4 linked. That poor truck is ready for a major overhaul. 5 years of beatin the piss outa her has really taken it's toll.

Now I'm gonna have to make you a special tee shirt

Are you kidding? That thing was ready for an overhaul the day you brought it out to Sibly on that frigid winter morning in 2002.

OUCH! You're right. But she's worked pretty well in the interim.

Truck is still at TW. Exhaust manifolds gave us a little trouble. Jason was welding up the front half of the exhaust when I left last night. We had just mocked up the CAT and placed the merge joint. It's gonna tuck real nice and nothing will be below the frame at any point. The trans cooler is in and only needs the two hoses clamped into place. Exhaust should be in when I get over there this afternoon, two wires to hook back into the harness and fire her up for cam break in this evening. Hoping to get the brakes bled out tonight also. It's gonna be tight for Baja but I'm pretty confident I'll be CRUISING to Ensenada.

:smokin:

Exhaust is done. IT'S PISSED! Exactly what I wanted. THANKS JASON!

Fired for a couple seconds last night just to make sure the wiring was good. Fans tonight along with coolant and a temporary tach and temp guage. Still need to bleed the brakes but things are really close now. All the little detail s*** is starting to catch up to me right now. Had to take a step back last night to get my wits about me, but hitting her hard tonight.

:bounce: :bounce: :bounce2: :bounce2:

Well, drove her around the block last night. Unfortunately she won't be at the meeting tonight. Still have alot of cleaning up to do and a whole bunch of little nickle and dime s*** to button up this weekend before she's a driver. I'll deffinately have it at the next meet though.

BMan,
You got any pictures of the ride? I would like to check it out.

Well, the decision has been made to abandon the 60 for Baja and take the Taco. The little stuff continues to grow and a 1000 mile plus shakedown run just isn't prudent at this point in my life.

Fortunately, attempting to get her ready for the Baja trip has forced me to do what I've been trying to do for 3 years now and get it done. When I return from Baja I'll spend a week or two getting her buttoned up and will be at the June meet with the 60.

I'll post up some pics soon hopefully and plan on doing an extensive writeup of the build to post up somewhere eventually.

Thanks for all of the support and interest that you guys have shown over the past couple of years, and especially the past few months. It's you guys who have helped keep me motivated and moving towards the final results.

As far as Baja - your plan to take the Taco is a good one. Better to be on solid ground for testing.

Enjoy a stress free Baja!

Yea, what 'dude said. The taco will be fine. I don't suspect we will be venturing to far off of Mex 3. At least until we abandon pit 1 and head for pit 3. I'll bring a strap. :grinpimp:

But speaking of all kinds of little stuff to fix....you shoulda seen the crap I dealt with today on the jeep. Broken sway bar brackets, missing sway bar links, melted battery terminal, bad battery, broken mirror....and I finally gave in and bought some shocks for the front end (to the tune of $400). I still don't know what is up with the fuel can measurements.....
