Ok, here is my complete kit to adapt an Isuzu 4bd1t to a land cruiser 40 or 60 series. This kit will fit either a 4 speed or H55F 5 speed. I used it with a 5 speed and it worked great. I just got tired of shifting mine and decided to adapt an A440F auto to mine.
This kit comes with the Isuzu diesel swapper adapter rings. Here is a link to their site with lots of great Isuzu engine info. Overview This makes the back of the Isuzu diesel into a Chevy pattern so you can use any Chevy transmission. You also get a Downey offroad Chevy to Toyota bellhousing so you can bolt up a Toyota 4 or 5 speed to it. You also get the RARE Isuzu manual transmission flywheel that is almost impossible to find on later Isuzu diesels. This flywheel is already machined to accept the Isuzu swapper spacer ring and you also get a Chevy flywheel to boot! I also machined the spacer ring to accept a standard Toyota pilot bearing so you don't have to use a special pilot bearing from one of the conversion sites. I installed a brand new pilot bearing so everything is ready to go.
As well you get a chevy clutch and pressure plate that fits the toyota input shaft. This clutch has about 15k miles on it and still has a tons of life left in it since it is only a year old. I also included a 6 month old Aisin clutch slave that has the correct amount of throw for this setup, as well as the correct length clutch arm for proper clutch disengagement. All bolts and hardware needed for this setup are bagged and ready to go and will be labeled for easy ID and installation.
This complete kit was just pulled last week and was working perfectly in every way. I just got sick of shifting and my wife not being able to drive my truck. If you are wanting to convert your Cruiser to a diesel, the Isuzu engines are a great way to go if you want a bomb proof diesel engine with great parts availability and simple to work on and doesn't cost 5 to 7K like the Toyota diesels do. I am asking $850 for the kit which is much less than what I have into it. Just the Isuzu diesel swapper rings cost over $600 alone. If you are interested, email or PM me. I take Paypal so you can use your credit card if you want.
Thanks,
Don
