I'm selling my Isuzu 4BD1T, the truck it came out of had 130k miles on it and ran great.... was driving before it was pulled. The Isuzu 4BD1T is a mechanical, direct-injection 3.9l turbo diesel that is similar to the Cummins 4BT, but a bit smaller, quieter and runs with less vibration.

The engine does have a "remanufactured" tag on it, but I don't know when that would have been done. The engine is complete, minus the PS pump. Currently has a cover over the hole where the pump sat, so no debris gets inside. The stock turbo has no shaft play and feels tight, if that helps.

Also have a new Holset 221W turbo that I can include, if interested. I would rather sell the turbo with the engine.

$2000 for the 4BD1T

$750 for the HE221W

Located in Grand Junction, CO. Buyer must pick up, no shipping. PM me here if you're interested.

Reman’d probably points to older engine as the newer ones have a pretty good longevity and 130k and needing a reman may indicate which model this might be

Lots of assumptions there, IMO. Look at this post- Any major differences in 4BD1T engines of different years?

2 engine data tags, one from a '85 spec'd at 116 HP. The other from a '89 spec'd at 126 HP. My engine tag also reads 126 HP, which would leave me to believe that this is the later engine, with the better cam, pistons & different injection timing, resulting in the higher HP rating.

Who knows why (or when) it was rebuilt, I don't have that information. Could have been to poor maintenance or any number of things.

all good points- I shot a note to SRC to see if they typically use the OEM Isuzu matched pistons and cylinder sleeves in their remans. I would imagine they would have.......and I would imagine that the reman tag might signify a 1995 rebuild date. hopefully they will release some info if it’s still in their database.

I was wondering if they might have any info, but didn't follow up on the thought. Post up if you hear anything back!
