Looking for a set of rods with clamps (ends not needed as I’ll be replacing with new)

Doing a 60 PS swap on a 40 SUA.

Nobody seems to make 21mm weld inserts or I’d just make my own relay rod.

Hoping to find a decent used set and not have to shell out for new.

cheers

I was in the same boat when doing my coil conversion, no one makes 21mm inserts, ended up using mine of the stock steering and slipping them into some heavy wall tubing. Worked great,

You can buy the links at the dealer, and then get FJ60 ends at cruiseroutfitters
Really?

my local Toyota dealer is a block away... they suck donkey ballz, but it might be worth a try.

Yes, Kurt seems to have the best price for tie rod end kits. I need J7X and RHD.

Thanks for the idea to check at Toyota.

👍

45451-60100 "relay rod"

45461-60100 "Tie rod"

We buy these regularly from Toyota for FJ40 power steering conversions, and they're usually readily available.
Cheers mate.

Oh I’m certain that you get them from the dealership all the time...

The dealership here on the South Island
has been so problematic for so many years it’s not really on my radar anymore... lol ... although I only live a block and a half away.

They always have parts/service for my wife’s RAV4 (purchased new there in 2015).

But ya, not sure they even know Land Cruisers ever existed... then the parts guys get all weird when you just give them the damn part numbers.

Then try showing up in an RHD import HJ47....

I’ll run it up the flagpole and see what happens.

Well surprisingly they can actually get the relay and tie rods!

Just walked over with the dog to the parts counter to see what’s what.

$200+ for one and $300+ for the other. One week to ten days for shipping out of the states.

ouch.

So back to my original call out for a good used set... anyone?

At least I can get all new if that’s the only option.

Cheers
Crusty
