Recently purchased a 94 fzj80 w/125k mi. I drove it 6-7k mi. with no problems. All of a sudden I hear a loud tapping/clapping noise coming from the head. Told I need valve adjustment and possibly new hydraulic lifters. Is this common or did I buy a lemon?

Dont know why everyone is being so rude? But yeah, get the valve adjustment. I do believe the book says you should get them adjusted every 80,000 miles. I had to adjust mine, they were pretty outa wack. So I would say na, you didnt buy a lemon. Owning a LandCrusher is a big investment, and some times a pain. You are gonna need to baby this thing, but these are nice machines.
he's asked the same question three times in three days in three different threads. The same answers where listed in the first two threads.
Because it is a waste of time to ask the same copy and paste question over and over again.
The proper action on BenjaminYamuddah’s part would have been to taken the tips from the first thread figured out more about his noise and come back with the new info on what he found.
Reposting the same question does no one any good including Ben.
