GPS/Navagation CD slot. Probably can’t be removed, but I don’t know for sure.

are you sure? the cd slot is in the dash (within the headunit)

So that's how you update the map? Where does the CD come from?

what the hell didnt know that...thanks for the info..If i remove it will it impact the "installed map"? is it running directly from the cd or it actually downloads the map to the HD? and where is the eject button? ive had the car for 10+ years and i just came to know this

You can’t remove it. Or the CD. You’ll get error messages and the nav won’t work, among perhaps other things. Unless you have an updated map data CD to install, don’t even mess with it. There is no mechanical eject button, it’s all done with the MFD screen, per the manual. As a relevant aside, if you need an owners manual(s) they can be had at the Toyota Owners web site.

There is no HD in your model year. The Nav runs off the CD like @Sandroad stated and you’ll just get an error message if there is nothing in the slot.

What year or package is this? I had a 13 and now a 16 both had nav, and neither had that in the glove box.

Not sure what you are asking but the GPS/NAV CD comes from the factory and if you choose to update it every so often you can purchase a new updated GPS/NAV CD and change it.

He’s probably asking as many of us have never seen that as it seems it’s something on earlier models. It was not present on any of the 200s I owned.

Yes, exactly. Thank you. Same here.

I didn't know what it was since my 200 is fairly new to me. I assumed it was related to the DVD player honestly.

What's the most recent DVD Toyota made? Seems like a kind Mud member could capture an .iso of it.

I got why he was asking, I just wasn’t sure what he meant by “where does it come from.”
I have a 2011 and not really sure when they transitioned to the HD GPS (no disk)

I have a 2013 LC200 manufactured April 2012 and I have the HD and no Nav DVD box in the glove compartment.

HTH

My ‘08 has the dvd gps programming. There are lots of updates on eBay or at least there used to be. I quit buying them after about 3 of them wouldn’t get past whatever anti-pirate software Denso uses. I found the legit Denso updates outrageously expensive and as a warning shot across Toyota’s bow refuse to buy one. They don‘t seem to be affected.

Honestly I'd wish Toyota would just give up on including any Nav/entertainment - break out the climate controls into buttons and leave an opening for users to install a good system. my '15 land cruisers nav is unusable - my '14 Tesla gets an update daily to it's nav.....
