Is this heater hose connection correct?

They are reversed.

Hey poser, thanks for the quick answer. I suspected that from one of YOUR comments. :) I have read so many conversations with and about you that I feel I know you LOL.

I am looking at a cable operated valve to replace the manual one so I have to remove it anyway. Might as well fix the location issue at the same time.

Do you know if there is a reason they need to be reversed? Do they come from the same water jacket?

Steve

They share the same water passage in the head.

I cannot think of, and do not remember ever hearing a reason as to why the sender would be in front of the water outlet. I have seen them both ways on trucks that have come through the shop.

Just be careful when you thread the temp sender into the head that the element section of the sending unit does not bottom out into the cylinder head casting, as it will not read accurately because it is in contact with the casting, and not just the coolant.

I thought they were reversed too, but the always handy SOR pics, on page 186, show that orientation???? Now Im going to have to go home and check mine....
