in an intake system to force air into the engine?

I doubt youd get enough force oradded pressure to do anything other than make a little more noise under the hood and draw a little more power from the battery.

the short answer is no.

the power has to come from somewhere for compressing the air. directly from the engine via belts, from the exhaust gas as in a turbo, or if you're going to do it right a big honkin battery that will only be good for short bursts to a rather large electirc motor.

so, yes it could be done. no, you won't be doing it with radio shack parts or the "kits" on ebay. CFM isn't the only requirement, you have to Compress the air and a regular fan won't do that with much success.

the only moderately successful application i've seen is for large diesel trucks. an electric supercharger provides boost off idle untill the regualr turbo spools up.
