Is there a renewed interest in a Tucson "cruise"??

So we stopped doing the Tucson monthly "cruise" because of lack of interest. Basically for 6-7 months 3 of us would show regularly and usually 1-2 other rigs would drop by.

Is there a larger, renewed interst with the Tucson area cruisers to get together once a month and show off the rigs, kick the tires, bull****, yada yada???? I go to the PHX meet every couple of months and it's usually quite impressive, with as many as 25 rigs all lined up. They have a great place to meet also. A lighted, empty parking lot, sandwiched between a Sonic and a quickie mart store.

If so, we need to scout out a decent sized lot with lighting, and possibly close to a Circle K or something for food and drink. Something central would be best.

Post up if there is interest and/or if you know a good place to meet. Keep in mind, a lot of places in Tucson would require us to get permission, usually as a courtesy, before lining up a bunch of trucks in the parking lot.

My name is Jimmy and I am a recent FJ 40 owner. I have loved them since a trip to the serra nevada mountains ,near the ruba -con trail. A friend of mine took me in his cruiser and for 3 days I lived the dream. A 10 mile trip through some of the most harsh conditions you can throw at a vehicle. AWESOME! At the time I didnt know How hard it was to have the rig in the condition he had it in and was just in heaven. Now that I have gotten myself the truck that since that trip I have always wanted, I realize just how special that these 40's,60's,80's and all other #'s are to us. When I see you all in town ,I want to stop you and get your contact info. You know how it is ... A look, then another look to see if its a toy...and gone! I try to at least wave but like I said earlier I'm a total nube. Lets get together to see if we can promote something in this area that hasnt been availible to us. I say lets be proud of the differences to those damn jeeps and show off a bit! No offence to those with a taste for jeeps as well , but you understand...Its like coke and pepsi...I say we are pepsi...lol

You know that I will be there. I am very skeptical though. In the past we have had a lot of people say that they want to come out, but few ever did.

As you said, the 3 of us were all that we could ever really count on.

Let's give it a try though.

Is there enough room there for say a dozen rigs to park? If so that would be a good spot.
I would like the monthly meet to be in town, so even if someones rig is down, they could still come out.
As the Club Director for S. AZ, my vision is to emulate the PHX meet. They have a great thing going once a month and I enjoy participating in that. I think it would be great to do that here as well.
I know a lot of Tucson folk aren't into the club thing and that's fine. I just want to get a good sized group of us together in a place where we will be seen, so others out there not on MUD will catch wind of cruisers gathering once a month. It would be a great way to bring others to this forum and possibly to the club as well.

I was unable to meet before because of work obligations. I now have to opportunity to enjoy my weekends again and would enjoy getting togeter with you guys!!! I wasn't abe to stay long at the pizzeria meet but enjoyed it anyway and now that I have my cruiser back I can show Woods all the mods I have done instead of just talking about it!!! Lets get a place and time (as long as it is not in the next two weeks) and I will definately bet there!!!!

There is more than enough parking. A few years back when my friend Orion and I used to race it was a popular hangout. It started as us and a couple friends hanging out after work. It got to where you could barely get through the parking lot. I don't know if the monthly Cruiser thing would ever be like that, but it's good spot nontheless.

Sounds like a good spot! PHX does theirs on the 3rd friday of every month. We used to have ours on the 2nd friday. If you guys are cool with it lets do that. I'll get the address of the Pizzeria and have Kevin fix the CSC website.
I'll be there tomorrow night then with my daughter.
