Hi,
Me and my freind were talking the other day about the 5700 and we were wondering??
Is their a vast difference between the
4700 vvt-i 271hp
and the
5700 381hp?
I said ofcourse but my freind said that the 5700 is too heavy is that true??
I hope its true because every one in the gulf can't wait untill this engine is released here, it will most probablly be released here when the new patrol arrives sometime in '10.
Gx-r>>>>;)

HELL YEAH there is a difference. 400 lb/torque? Oh yeah!

Test drive the 4.7 land cruiser and then compare with the LX570

I have had some experience with both engines.

The 4.7 feels like it was designed for smoothness and refinement whereas the 5.7 feels design for sheer power.

110hp difference...... nah......no difference..;p

..just 110hp difference ;)

BTW.. welcome to MUD :flipoff2:

My 5.7 is one of the smoothest engines I've ever felt. On pavement refinement, off-road beast.

The 5.7 looks like a carbon copy of the GM 350ci engine complete with pushrods and a steel timing chain. Whereas the 4.7 is overhead cam driven via a nylon like belt.

Where's the starter located on the 5.7?

This thing uses pushrods???

hmmmm. Toyota.com states that 5.7 is a DOHC engine with dual vvti....I doubt GM had these two features.

Wow! The preliminary exploded detailed view of that engine originally depicted pushrods. And I was equally shocked they would introduce a pushrod engine. I'll have to see if I can find it...

There is no comparision....period. 8.7 vs 6.5 0-60 tells it all.

Shotts: We should meet up sometime. I want to see your rig.

Sounds like fun!

I'll be running the Coke Ovens on Sat 10/25 with the AzLCA. We might need to make an early exit as I have concert tickets for that night, front row, don't want to be late and I have dinner plans beforehand. ???
