All, about to replace the rotors and pads in the rear of my 2011 LX with OEM. I've ordered the rotors, pads as well as the "Brake Pads Hardware Kit" (04948-60040) also called "Fitting Kit". My supplier (ToyotaPartsDeal.com) has the rotors and pads in stock but the hardware kit is back-ordered with no ETA. Is the hardware kit absolutely necessary or can I reuse what's on the truck now. I'm not 100% sure what is currently on the truck but my guess is it's not OEM as Carmax replaced the pads when I purchased the truck.

I haven’t done mine yet but the front kit is just wire clips that I don’t see why they can’t be reused. From the vid I watched the pads won’t stay on without them so I doubt they have gone anywhere. The rears have rubber boots and caps to replace if you tear one while taking them out. These may already be gone. I’d get the rear kit for peace of mind.

Depends on the amount of rust. If your truck is clean underneath the only difference between yours and the new parts may be the amount of brake dust on the parts.

Note that since this hardware is shared with the tundra if you get under there and really need the parts local parts places usually have it. Then switching out with the OE stuff when you get it is pretty easy, if you care that much.

The aftermarket version of those kits is usually readily available on Amazon, and is a lot less expensive. The slider pins on the front brakes are worth replacing if they are not in great condition, and I prefer to refresh everything while I am in there. Save any old parts that are in good condition for emergency spares.
