I've been searching the forum trying to find the answer to this question, but all I seem to find is Brock's truck that is loaded with front and rear bumpers. He thinks he's lifted 2" with the weight he's carrying - what kind of lift is an unloaded truck going to have?

Any help is appreciated!

I don't know if anything has changed, but when I was talking in person with them at Cruise MOAB a couple years ago, he said it was a 1.5" lift.

Im running the ironman rear springs with their shocks all the way around with my stock torsion bars. I have a Sahara bumper with winch and hope to be switching the torsion bars out later this year. My rear sits at 22.5" center of hub to bottom of wheel well, the front is 21.5", cant remember how much lift that came to but you can compare those figures with your current height. I went with the up to 660lb rear springs since I dont have a rear bumper and dont usually carry more that a couple hundred pounds back there. The switch from stock to Ironman was a huge improvement and Eli is a great guy to deal with.

If you need more lift you can add a spacer but then you will certainly need a diff drop to even come close to getting the right stance. Check it - https://forum.ih8mud.com/100-series-cruisers/586640-not-sure-i-like-stanky-feeling.html

the Ironman kits calls itself a 1.5" lift....that being said when you add rear springs that are rated at 660# ABOVE STOCK spring weights.....and also change out TB to higher spring rates....it is going to sit a little higher if springs are not experiencing that much weight on them full time.

Gottagetone- those springs are rated for an ADDITIONAL WEIGHT up to 660 lbs....not 660lbs maximum weight capacity....that is above and beyond the stock springs.

Like I said...it is rated at 1.5" but when comparing it to my NORMAL setting on AHC before removal it was closer to 2". Maybe compared to LC standard suspension it is only 1.5"....I dont know.

Just ordered the Ironman kit from ACC. Will post up before/after photos once the lift is on.

How funny are my 275/70/16's going to look?

You will be fine, the difference between a 278 and a 285 is minimal but im guessing you will go up a size on your next tire purchase.

I have an IM 2 inch lift... rides great after 200k on the stock stuff.

PM me if you want measurments (I know pic isn't the best)

only issue so far is I need to clamp both cvs...after 200k they were kinda "set in their ways" and are protesting by throwing grease everywhere.

I ordered the normal shocks, got the lift in and one was busted. MT sent me straight to Eli (sales rep stateside) and he sent me foam cell upgrades at no additional cost. He was very communicative, apologetic and a pleasure to deal with.

Just to update the thread:

I had the lift installed last week. No pics yet, but the lift is much taller than I thought it would be, but that's fine. I think the front end is a little high because when I hit a speed bump the suspension unloads really hard (read snaps back down with a horrible noise).

My measurements from the bottom lip of the rim to the bottom of the wheel well opening -

Driver front: 31 7/8
Passenger front: 31 1/4
Driver rear: 32 5/8
Passenger rear: 31 5/8

Thoughts?

Whomever installed the lift cranked the front torsion bars too high. The loud bang is the front suspension with not enough droop or down travel. You need at least 60mm of droop. Go back and have them adjust correctly.

Yes for future reference for someone searching this.

FP = 30 1/8
FD = 30 1/2
BD = 31 5/8
BP = 31 3/4

these will get you a comfortable ride with slight stink bug....perfect (max ride height while maintaining braking, steering, and having enough down travel)

I'm pretty sure any numbers posted can't be universally trusted as exact figures. Differences in wheel/tire diameter along with what point the measurement was taken are going to make them unique to each vehicle. Used for very rough reference data, sure.

IMHO, the best way to tackle this is do you own measuring before and after. Also measure your front droop while stock, then measure it as your increase the front ride height until you have reached no less than 60mm.

Yeah, my setup is definitely not right. I took another set of measurements - this time from the center of the hub to the bottom of the wheel well and these are my numbers.

Driver front: 23"
Driver rear: 23 3/4"
Passenger front: 22 5/8"
Passenger rear: 22 7/8"

What I've found online is I should have a rake of 1 to 1.5 inches, and a minimum of 50mm droop. While I'm not experiencing any torque steer, I am getting a loud bang when going over speed bumps, and a bit of wandering on the road. Should I give this time to settle, or take it back to the shop immediately?

agree completely any numbers are a guide...but my sig line gives specificson how I'm set up so anyone can take that into consideration when doing their own lift.

Also agree measurments before and after and testing droop by measuring flat on ground and with front end jacked up to the point tires leave garge floor to be the most definitive on how much..... my .02
