Hello Collective:
I recently bought a 2 Inch Stage One Lift kit from Ironman with the foam shocks. Took advantage of the sale. Because I'm driving a 105 with the live front axle I bought the kit for the 80 series as recommended by members of this group. I probably should have just gotten the stage two, but I figured I could add the components I needed later. On another forum I'm being told that I'll need to have the from Diff dropped or risk damaging it. Is this true for a 105? Are there any components I should buy now to avoid any risk of damaging my baby?
Thanks

The diff drop is only for those of us with CV axles up front, which you don't have. You're being led astray. You don't need the diff drop if you've got a solid live axle up front.

It would be interesting to see how they came up with dropping the front diff on a 105 series lol

The main thing to worry about on those are the caster correction bushes are installed in the correct orientation as they're eccentric. These allow the diff to maintain proper shaft angles in relation to the transfer case and also proper steering geometry.

Thanks. That's what I was wondering with the live front axle. They may have just seen the picture and thought it was a 100

NO.

At 2”, no. If you go above 2”, then you’ll probably need some other stuff, like an extended or adjustable front panhard rod, extended brake lines, at possibly caster correction plates.
