By all means use a jack if you can. I didn't have a piece of wood or anything around at the time to make a jack work for me. I did the same as bmac and kept them tight enough that hip checking and pulling would move it but the weight of the bumper wouldn't. Worked out in the end and really makes the fit look great. Also quick question? Was your LX in an accident? Or did you just want the projector headlights? If it was wrecked in the front could be the reason for the some of the ill fitting bolts.
