I have a 2000 TLC with stock 6-disk in-dash CD changer. Has anyone had good experience with a particular brand of Ipod intergration module?

I have seen various post for the "ICE" module on newer '06 models, but nothing on 2000 vintage......................any advice would be much appreciated.

Anyone have detailed install description for 2000 vintage?

Thanks much :)

dood, i just put the usa spec pa12toy in my 03 cruiser and have my ipod and sirius hooked up through the factory stereo/nav and it works great. IT will work for your applicaton as well. its about $170 for the part - just plug and play as well.

I also have used the USA spec adapter. I installed it when my 6 disc radio decided to stop playing discs. The system works well and you can add other things like sat radio or whatever to it. I had the wiring routed to my glove box where I could plug leave the Ipod out of sight but still grab it and go when I wanted.

I recently replaced my radio with an aftermarket unit and have the USA spec just laying around now. I would sell it for $75 if your interested. I still have the original packaging and documentation for it also.

I have a 2000 with the Dension iPod adapter. I mounted it to the blank plate just to the right of the heater controls. That took longer than the rest of the installation. There is an empty plug on the back of your stereo that you use. Adapter plugs are typically included with the unit you buy for the Toyota spec. No problems at all. I use my iPod all the time, since my tuner would not even tune in a station transmitted from inside this vehicle.

Grego, All,
How does the USA Spec unit work with XM? Does it have a full emulation model like the VaisTech unit?

My goal is to run XM through my 2004 factory head unit (which does not have a SAT button). 3 places could not get my VaisTech system to work so, I gave up on it and am looking for alternatives.

Thanks in advance.

Wish I could help. I never used my USA SPEC unit for more than Ipod. It has provisions (RCA inputs) for XM or whatever, I just never used them. Sorry I'm no help to you.

I used the USA SPEC version for my acura. Works fine but has some very weird querks. When an ipod is plugged in, it obviously charges it. Well when the charging is complete, it pauses the ipod and shows the 'full charged icon' on the screen.

Then the user has to grab the ipod and press the pause button again to make it start. That is very annoying when someone is into a song.

There is was also an audible POP when switching between CD/RADIO and the USA SPEC unit.

That was my experiance.
