is it 20 bucks per person or rig - i may have 3 passangers

Excellent question. I'll call Tony (a.k.a. Trigger) and find out.

I will have my six year old daughter, a friend and his two kids also. We're going to throw the kids in the back with a video and a strap to secure them.

How do we get there? I'm going to be coming in from a different way and will be unable to meet y'all at the waffle house.

Thx,

Trigger,

Can you post up more info on the trails? What level of difficulty? Stockers OK?

I'm in,:) I'll be taking my 17 yr old but not his cruiser. Brettin I'll send you a PM

There's stuff for everyone. We've taken everything from stock Range Rover Sports to mildly-modded Defenders out. No serious body damage. Yet. :) Brett can attest to this.

Of course, if it rains like it has been all bets are off. The soil out there has very high clay content and is a slick as it gets. We've had trucks slide off of straight and level trails when it's wet. Makes it a whole other challenge. In that case you're not going much of anywhere, even locked up. My mudders became racing slicks in seconds in that stuff. No matter how fast I spun them I couldn't through the lugs clear.

Ok, just talked to Rusty at the ranch. He'll be throwing on some briskets for us to chow down on for lunch. Looks like rain on and off today and tomorrow so it could be a bit slick. Bring your galoshes.

If anyone is going to be late feel free to call me for directions on Sunday. 512-917-4661

I am in on Sunday.

Trigger, I just got back from Europe and took this photo at the Luton airport. Very sweet rig!

Im not that familiar with the airport area other than "the airport" can you give me a better idea of where the waffle house is and are we leaving at 10am?

Meeting location and time

Here's a map link. http://tinyurl.com/2sesuk

The address is:
7809 E Ben White Blvd, Austin, TX

They'll be meeting at the Waffle House about 8:30am to eat and will depart by 9:30am.

Those of us coming up from San Antonio will meet you guys at Texas 21 and Hwy 71, just before Bastrop. We'll be on CB channel 4.

Tips from our last run at this ranch.

Remember bug spray

If you have rubber “mud” boots, you might want to wear them. Academy sells them for less than $20 dollars and they’re one of the best off-road tools for this kind of weather.

This property has poison ivy in spots and heavy underbrush. You might want to wear jeans or at least high socks if you wear shorts.

Pack some snacks and water.

Rubber floor mats are very desirable.

If you have a CB radio, we’ll be on channel 4.

thanks - and for those of you who i dont know yet i will be pulling my fj40 with my pewter suburban and i will have 3 girls with me ( 1 daughter and 2 neices) so i hopefulley should be on time since I will be giving them a firm kick in the rear to get into gear

Sorry I was unable to make it. I've come down with a bug of some sorts and have spent the day on the couch :( I was thinking of ya'll though, wishing I was out there! Next time....

Guys, thanks for making it out. Sorry I had to leave y'all stuck in that creek bed but I barely made it home in time to meet family that was coming over for dinner. :)

Also, I apologize for the mixup regarding the food. When I talked to Rusty I had understood that food was included in the trails fees. That wasn't the case. Instead of arguing with him and souring a good relationship with a property owner it was better just to pay up and keep things civil. This was totally my fault so please don't blame Rusty. Property close to town that we can play on is hard to find, challenging property even more so. Next time I'll make sure that things are more clear. Again, I apologize if anyone was upset about that arraignment. I ended up a couple people short so I paid up. If I missed collecting from anyone catch me or Jeff at the next meeting. I'm pretty sure I got all the Land Cruiser guys though so don't worry about it. I know who I need to go after in the Rover club. :)

I hope everyone had fun and I look forward to riding with y'all again.

Normally I take way too many pics on the trails. Today I only took around 25. Mostly of Land Cruisers. You can browse my site but there's really not a whole lot of pics there.

Oh, and that first mudhole we played in? Here it was back in March. You can see the water height was level with the top of that exit spot.
