Man you have to be getting itchy for a drive.

Jt outfitters got scratched off my list years ago. A long line of saying something would get done and getting nothing but excuses afterward.

Look forward to seeing it.

Yes, I am itchy for a drive when completed. I did get to back it up the driveway when the tow truck delivered it though. Spent most of Saturday afternoon reinstalling parts, wish I had an enclosed garage, the cooler weather and rain didn't help much.

As for JT, I believe a large part of their problem is they have four businesses working out of the same building, selling campers, UHaul, JT and one other so the time spent on Land Cruisers suffers. I really like the convenience of having a "local" supplier I can drive to and pick up parts but the wait times have made it easier to just order from SOR or other suppliers.

Come by any time you are able. I always enjoy visitors.

Got the lights working with new brake lights, installed the sliders, reinstalled the windshield with everything reattached and had the roll bar brought to the house. Evidently there was some sort of a design change with the windshield gasket. When I took the old windshield, gasket and frame to a glass shop for installation, the gasket fit the glass but fell through the opening in the frame. So I had to purchase a new windshield glass. It is so clean it is scary. I did get new visors but my wife hates the color so I will have to dye them black at some point. Tomorrow I get the half doors and will fit them to the opening before taking them in for painting. Then I will finish the dashboard and have the soft top repaired which should finish things up, mostly.

Ichiban lives!

Looking good David. Ill have to swing by and check it out in person.

Shane - I hope the tailgate was some use for you. I was going to go another route with a bolt-in tailgate but the body shop used what I had and made it into a real drop down tailgate without a lot of fuss or trouble. Keep it covered? Remember, this is a Land Cruiser and they can really get wet, not like a Yeep which needs to be kept dry. Hopefully I can get the doors fitted by Friday and avoid all the wet that is coming Sat.

Jason - Come by any time. Maybe next time I can be more gracious and actually act like a host instead of just talking.

As for the rebuild, I believe I can actually see the light at the end of the tunnel and I hope it isn't a train.

Already playing with the gate.
Will get a drill bit today and pop the welds on it I hope tonight.
You could of kept the rust that keeps pouring from it.

I think the light is the bank coming for your mortgage.
They figured out what you did with that loan.

Do like the finish of the paint.

I believe the rust in the tailgate is mainly from the bottom. I hope it is just that so you won't have to much effort.

The paint is Hot Rod black which is a satin finish. The hood had to be repainted and came out flat instead. The body shop said they would respray it but I decided I like it this way.

In between Dr appts and other necessary things, I have managed to spend a few hours on the 40. Today I got the dash painted, the upped pad installed and the lower mocked up. The company that made the pads doesn't make a pad for older 40's so I am going to install some switches there for items like fog and driving lights. Tomorrow the tires arrive and they will be mounted to the wheels I have been hoarding for 4 or more months, the license plate bracket is installed and the lights will arrive on Friday and the top I ordered should arrive on Friday. I hope the half doors I gave to the body shop will be painted by Friday which will give me a lot to do over the weekend. The speedo and tach isn't quite finished yet just put into place to see what they will look like in the hole.

Ratty looking steering wheel! Once I recover some cash I will spring for another steering wheel combination and maybe power steering.

New boots. Now it is starting to look more like a 4WD instead of a grocery getter. The new tires are BFG AT KO2, 31x10.5R15LT. Just two inches taller then the previous tires. Might need to get a little lift from some after market shackles. Any recommendations?

Looks very nice! From that angle I can't see the need for any lift.

I would recommend taking off the tow shackles so they don't disappear via sticky fingers.

The rears are a little closer than I would like but I will leave it as is for now. Maybe later.

The shackles are there just because, I can move them to the glove box when I finally get to drive it.

The roll bar is installed, but not completely, the half doors are in and adjusted, don't like Aqualu's door strikes, the electrical work is somewhat complete and I was finally able to drive it today for the first time since it came back from the body shop. Even in the cold rain it was a blast. I deeply regret selling the first one I had. I have missed out on a lot of fun through the years.

Installed the rear tire carrier yesterday and the top went on today. Tomorrow I hope to finish the gauges installation.

I know, the top looks like a JP. I just can't afford a reproduction Toyota soft top.

I was hoping the red wouldn't be to much. Thanks.

BTW The top is a bitch to install solo. Wish I had some help.

Like it.

The church I attend had a car show along with their fall craft show and bazaar. I had the only 4x4 there. Here is where I was parked early in the morning. (The fine print on the sign in the windshield says "This is not a Jeep.")
