Well - the subject line say it all.

Lots to play with on the truck... new door actuators, slow windows, sunroof doesn't work, need to program new keys... but it's BEAUTIFUL and it's MINE and I intend to take my twins (2.5 yrs old right now) camping places where I used to go with my motorbike.

I'm in love with that truck. I wanted a 40, 'cos that's what I grew up with in New Zealand, but... practicality and $$ argued against it. I was in the market for an 80, then... well - a 100 series with less than 200k miles and great tires for $5,400 was too good of a deal.

NOW - to figure out how to make it 'mine' for as little $$$ as possible. I WANT bumpers and racks and all the cool stuff, and have to figure out how to prioritise...

Congrats!

I also started my cruiser obsession looking at older models and nearly bought an 80 series years ago. The 100 is a better rig though. Front solid axle be damned, the 80 is just too slow, weak, thirsty and older in every regard.

My 99 has 220k now and it's been bulletproof for the last 30k I've owned it. Cross country road trips, difficult jeep trails and home depot hauling. It's done it all very well and I'm sure yours will do the same.

I'd recommend sliders as your first "mod" if you plan to go off road. Relatively cheap compared to smashing the body.

Good job! Post up a pic of this beast!

welcome.

door locks? I want to say you can replace just the motors. I done it on my GS300. I need to do it on my 100 also cause they're weak.
