Introducing myself again with a 1990 FJ62 (1 Viewer)

Hey all!

I joined MUD in 2008 after picking up a FJ40. I don't post very often, but I'm always here looking up information.

I recently picked up a 1990 FJ62 with 220,000, OME HD 3" lift, roof rack, 32x11.5x15, interior in awesome condition, all original, and all electrical working. I added a new exhaust including cats and muffler. Did a complete tune up and changed all new oils. I am amazed how smooth it shifts and how strong it is! It's a beast!

I've put close to a 1,000 miles and I've had no issues!

Same for me! I read in this forum, that the Fj60/62 are dogs. When I bought my 62, I'd expected it to be really slow and underpowered. I was surprised to find it has good power and is not a slug.

I've had slugs! 67 VW bus, Datsun 1200, 85 Toyota 4x4 pu(22R). The 62 has more balls than any of them.

Also had a 69 RoadRunner Hemi, it had a bit more power then the Fj

OME lift is worth about $1700, the roof rack another $1000. So did you get a good deal? It appears so.

You're right. He gave me the receipts for the lift and rack and that alone was about $3,000.
