I would pay Franklen tire and Auto 650 to do it but not Robie Mans..
It shocks me you said that he has an 80 and knows all the quirks because every time I brought mine in they would just look at it and scratch thier heads as if I just drive in a land Rover.. I'm not the only ine with that same story..
The price is so high because I'm sure they use book rates for the hourly labor (which has to at least 8-10).. Eric can do bot sides in an afternoon.
Me it would be a day and a half..
If you ever built a kids toy from a box then you have the skills needed to do the axle job.its just time consuming..
I would not let Robie Mans touch my front end they simply don't care enough about what they are doind. But that's why I hesitate to take mine anywhere.

Not saying that I would use Rob E Mans, just repeating what I've been told over the phone with them. I agree that the price is high. I'd pay Landspeeder if that offer was legit and I needed the work done. Hell, I'd be willing to pay much more.

I also had some work done at Franklin with some cooling issues I was having several years back with my '92 3FE. I can't say it appeared to be any cheaper than the rates charged at Rob E Mans. I got the feeling they had not seen too many LC's either, which I remember made me a bit nervous. Work turned out good though in the end.

Ditto. I'd rather Eric to work on my rig than a shop.

Or, ill be living in the SE real soon and I'll have my tools with me for work. ;)

...or me sneaking up on you at a random cruise moab...

Hey man, same cruise moab, Clutchee walked up on the storm trooper (my old white tC) and said "Hey that thing has an Alabama tag...." I replied from around the corner "Maybe because I'm from Alabama?..."
Big hug ensued.
Maybe the only time I'll hug dudes... at a cruiser event.

Eric could be a roaming cruiser mechanic.

If it kept me fed and bills paid... I'd be bout it!
Gimme about a year... and I'll be ready for it! I got something up my sleeve.

sorry SWERVIN. No more thread derails...

Cool deal. I look forward to meeting you. If you can make the GMP ride on the weekend before we can have an official welcome party, I mean LOWE is kinda un-officially sponsoring it. :grinpimp:
