Not sure if anyone else was following this auction but a pristine original owner 2003 with 45K miles just sold for $49,250 plus the fees. From the pictures, it appears to be one of the cleanest that I have ever seen.

The timing belt had never been done and the owner stated that he felt that it was not necessary. There was also no other mention of maintenance mentioned besides a few oil changes listed on the Carfax.

It would be interesting to know what it would have sold for if it had meticulous maintenance records.

No, I do not necessarily thing that it sold too low - I was just curious how important maintenance records are for the buyers of a pristine truck like this.

I don’t think it would have made a difference. I’m guessing it’s people with more money than they know what to do with buying up these cruisers for so much money.

A $1k service wouldn’t stop me from buying it at that price if I was looking at a low mileage rig like this one.
What about all of the other deferred maintenance on a 20 year old truck?

From the available records, it looks like very little was done during the life of the truck besides a few oil changes.

New keeper of the keys indeed. No one should drive that one.

This vehicle won’t be going to the streets.
If it indeed goes, I’m pretty sure whoever bought it have the funds to baseline it.

Yeah pretty sure they bought to hold this... in a garage. Not worried about letting them sit or breakdown. “Collector”

My wife ran her 06 LX470 pretty much that way for 125,000 miles. Oil changes, tires and brakes, new battery - that was it. If all you do is carpool and trips to the beach I’m convinced these trucks will be fine with minimal maintenance for 15 years or 100,000 miles.

When I took it over I baselined all the maintenance and fluids as well as timing belt, WP and CVs, and later replaced AHC globes (and obviously also did the really important stuff like sliders, dissent front bumper and winch, and gamiviti roof rack). The fluids were NASTY.

Now at 172k, I drove it across the country twice last year. Love it.
