I'm looking at purchasing the Interco Trxus MT 33x12.50 15's, but the Max PSI it says is 35psi which doesn't seem right for on road use. If I go up to 16's it increases the Max PSI to 65 PSI. Would I be better off spending an extra $300 or so and go 16's or does anyone out run the 15's with no problems?

Check the load rating for the tires (rated @ max pressure). If that number times four (for the four tires on your truck) is greater than what you expect your maximum vehicle gross weight to be, then I don't see why these tires wouldn't be just fine. Just because the 16inch tires are rated for a higher max pressure doesn't mean you want to run at that pressure under normal conditions.

Thanks for the insight 2mbb.

It just seems weird to be rolling around town at or around 30psi. Most of my vehicles I run around 40 so I only get +/- 2psi. The load rating per tire is 2405 so that would give a total load rating of 9620 @ 35 PSI.

I think the correct pressure for a given tire on a given vehicle depends upon many things: the load weight, the contact patch (the area of tire that is touching the ground), the volume of the tire, etc. I think for the land cruiser the ideal tire pressure will give a flat contact patch going across the tire. If the tire is overinflated, the middle of the tire will touch the ground but the sides will be pulling up away from the ground. The problem is this creates not only a smaller contact patch (less traction) but also leads to uneven tire wear. One way to check inflation is to mark a heavy line in chalk across the width of the tire. Drive for a short bit on the road then check the chalk line. If it is wearing evenly, then pressure is OK. If it's wearing more in the center than on the sides, the pressure may be too high. If it's wearing more on the sides than in the middle, the pressure may be too low.

The owners manual for the FJ60 says the tire pressure should be 28psig front, 32psig rear. Of course the 33x12.5's are not stock size, but these pressures are a good place to start...

I wouldnt go with the 16s, they would be way too stiff for a 60. My 34s are on 15 in rims and have the same load rating as the 33s, and they show no noticable bulge in the sidewall untill the pressure drops under 20 lbs. I run them in the low teens when i wheel and i wouldnt want them any firmer.

Agent Orange that information was very helpful thank you so much. Makes me feel a little better getting a tire with a Max PSI of 35PSI.

i have the exact tires. no problems. in fact most c rated 15 inch tires have a max psi around 35 i run mine at 32. they ride better than a higher psi tire and actuallyprovide better offroad performance because of the lower pressure. you will notice all of your higher psi tires having to air down for floatation and traction, you may still have to air down depending on what your doing, but you can run most offroad stuff with the exception of soft sand without chnaging your psi. just my .02

you do know on the door panel of your camaro it says 30 psi front and rear... if im not mistaken, same as my T/A....

While it does have a select PSI to run I do a lot of highway travel so I run mine at 40psi with a +3psi increase hot.

Thank you for the insight from an end users point of view.
