Insulation / Rubber Causing Skidplate Rust

On the other side of this skidplate is a long rectangular piece of insulation/rubber. Looks like it has gotten soaked with water and caused the skidplate to begin to rust out. Any idea if I can simply remove it? Wait for it to rust through and buy an ARB set?

Looks like you won’t have to wait long! MI huh, I bet salt is being held up there. I’d rip it off, remove the rust, and brush on some paint. Or buy something cool! Yeah, I’d probably just buy something cool!

That foam ensures air goes through the radiator instead of around it..
