Would a early year 1972 instrument cluster work on a 1980 fj40?

Have you had your cluster out and looked at it?

Have you compared it to the 1972?


They are significantly different.

I have only seen a 72 cluster from the front and not the back. i know the front looks different but i didn't know if the connections in the back of different.

The electrical connectors on the instrument clusters are not the same, nor are the gauges.
