Wondering if any one else has had this problem.

My instrument cluster panel is no lighted while headlights are off. It comes on when headlights are on. Abc on dash, Clock and temp gauge seem to work correctly. ( bright during day and the half dim with headlights on). Checked all fuses that are simple fuses.

From what I read it is the same bulbs. Is there a relay or something I am missing?

2006 LC.

Yep speedometer, tach, voltage, fuel, oil no lights during day. Wasn’t sure if it was normal. Wife noticed and it bothered her. If it is normal, maybe I should just lift it higher and then she won’t ever drive it. Thanks.

Mine is the same, and was wondering the same thing, the speedometer and other gauges are hard to see, especially if it’s bright outside, but what baffles me is that the AHC icon is very bright, and is the only thing that is very visible during the day. Seems like something might be wrong, but then again maybe my eyes are just not good enough any more. If anybody has any suggestions let me know.

My 2006 LX has lights on all day and night. My '99 LC lights are on ONLY when parking or headlights are on.

Funny, I had this going on for a month and found zero solutions. What mine ended up being was the dimmer switch simply being unplugged. This caused all the lights at night (except for dash and maybe two random console ones) to be completely dark at night. I would try to see if the dimmer can change the brightness of your gauges and if it doesnt do anything, that might be the answer. Hope this helps.

I checked the dimmer and it works fine, maybe it is just a LC thing, and the LX has the all day lights as an upgrade. I'm posting this picture to show what it looks like during the day.

Dash lights only come on with the headlights. Running lights don't turn them on. Panicked me a couple times recently since swapping dash lights for LEDs.

The dimmer knob changes the voltage to the dash bulbs, 0-12 volts. Most LED bulbs don't dim well when their voltage is changed. They may dim slightly but then just go out altogether.

Some LED retrofit bulbs may dim better than others, but don't be surprised if they don't have the complete dimming range like the OEM bulbs.

Mine dim just fine

Has anyone tried to replace the LEDs behind the cluster of the 03-07? I saw a thread someone did it to a 98-02 LC but not sure if the 03+ had the same setup
