Well just did a complete brake job this weekend. Replace both front and rear rotors and pads. Attempted to switch out the brake lines also but was not successful. I had installed the lines but when it came time to bleed them I could not get the air out. After many attempts decided to switch it back to OEM lines. Once OEM were back on I did the bleeding and was fine. Can anyone possible tell me what could have been wrong when installing the SS Lines? I could not figure out why I was not able to do the bleeding properly when I had the SS Lines installed. If anyone has come accross this problem please let me know. I still would like to install the lines. Thanks

Steve

P.S. This was first time for me working on the brakes so if more info is needed please let me know.

I can only think of two things,

#1 you forgot or didn't know to use new the new washers on the banjo bolts.

#2 faulty SS lines, I didn't think manufacture made these lines, did you or someone else make them?

I'm sure more will chime in with better ideas and susgestions.

I went w/ Slee's SS Lines. Also, yes I did use new washers. So not sure what's going on.

I used Slee's SS lines without a problem. Perhaps it's the fact that the new one's are full of air, so it'll take longer? i don't know?

Sounds like you were getting air in somewhere. Maybe a damaged hose end, or one end may not be tightening down all the way. If inclined you could replace the back line, try to bleed the rear brakes and if successful then move to the PS, do that one, and finally the DS. This way by doing them one by one you could find if one line is bad. First, of course examine them carefully and see if you can spot a bad thread or flare etc.

be sure and incorporate bleeding the LSPV in the proper sequence with the calipers too. This is a great point to forget and have your brakes feel crappy after new fluid, lines, pads, etc.
Hope this helps.
