Installation of Thermostat Housing Sensors (2 Viewers)

May need to replace my original upper and lower thermostat housing electrical sensors in the near future. Feel free to correct me, but I thought I remembered, in an ancient MUD post, that applying liquid thread sealer to the sender threads prevents the proper grounding of the sending unit itself.

1. Ok, we all know…probably from a limited experience of automobile electrics, that cast aluminum
(Ie. thermostat housing) is acceptable but microscopically less acceptable as a grounding medium.
2. We’re all aware of “electrical” liquid and tape sealing thread products out there that I believe are intended to promote an electrical as well as a fluid connection/seal.

So give me some real hands-on experience and counter intuitive thoughts.
What’s the go-to installation approach?

I always use a thread sealant that says, Sensor Safe, like permatex high temp, and never an issue.

I try to buy the smallest size available, cuz this stuff doesn't last long once
opened

If the manufacturer of a thread sealant recommends its use for temperature senders - you"re good to go with that.
