Installation of Heat Exchanger on HJ61 for running vege oil

Hi,

I've installed a brazed plate heat exchanger on the fuel line of my 12HT and have posted the pics and story to http://members.iinet.net.au/~tim.law/landcruiser/heater/index.html if anyone is interested.

Output temperature at the HE is around 60°C.

Looks like a clean install. How much was the k-30 heat exchanger worth and have you notice a improvment of truck after the install??????

The HE was around A$200, imported from the manufacturer in a bundle of ten by my local renewable fuels association. I understand we were very lucky to get this volume as usually the manufacturer only sells in larger - 150+ - quantities. Instal costs were around A$100 for TEE's, clamps, piping etc.

Heating oil to around 70°C at the outlet of the HE. There 'may' be some temperature loss between the HE and the pump, but our ambient temps are generally over +20°C, up to +40°C so am not too concerned. Vehicle runs fine, so discernable difference. Smells nicer!
