I all,
What have you done to remedy the heat buildup around the tunnel and floor pan above the exhaust? My RHD 45 has a factory heat shield above the cat but the floor pan and tunnel get so hot that I cannot drive with a passenger in the truck. I don't want to bastardized the truck by sticking dynomat all over the place. What has worked for you?

I used that foil faced bubble wrap stuff they sell at Home Depot.

I used Reflectix (foil faced bubble wrap) under the trans tunnel cover. It worked much better than the times I have installed it on top of the trans tunnel cover. The difference was huge. It's far easier to install it on top of the floorpan, so you might just do that. Stuff like Dynamat really doesn't have any 'R' value to stop heat (in a traditional insulation sense).

If you haven't gone to home depot yet.......

I did not choose dynomat either. Used aluminum sandwiched over closed-cell foam, not the bubble wrap. $40 bucks for a 4x10ft roll. FJ40 floor was already rhino-lined, so foil-taped it to underside of tranny hump, and had it sewn to the bottom of my floormats (that was a chore). This week I'm refinishing the hump for the 45 and will use this stuff again.

The bubble wrap stuff does crush over time so the closed cell does sound like a better plan.
