Hey everyone!
I've been scrounging around trying to look through threads to get info. The ol' prado is having a rough winter with the negative 20F temps lol. I've done the obvious things, oil/fuel/air filter changes, upgraded coolant, oil pan/trans, and battery heater + trickle charger. I even wired up a small heater to the skid on the fuel tank to keep it warm. It's having a bit of a rough time on start-up now and after talking to people around here as well as looking at threads on here, I think I need to do the injectors and glow plugs. I'm seeing PN 23600-59035 Denso PN 093500-2920 for the injectors. Anybody have a good source for them in the US/CA? I saw some guys posting to avoid the ones from China. When I search the PN's on eBay I seem to only find ones from China lol.

Next, I think it's definitely time for the glow plugs. Anything you guys recommend? Temps here in the winter range from +20F to -40F.

This is my first diesel so I'm learning as I go haha, I appreciate all the help I can get. I was hoping to have the exhaust and be setting up an intercooler by now but alas, my 100 series was hit by an F250. That put a stop on mods for the Prado for a bit there, but we're back now haha.

Thanks again for any help!

After wasting money on 3 sets of discount ebay fuel injectors. I ended up biting the bullet and paying nearly $300 each for a set of real Toyota injectors. I was unable to find genuine Toyota 2lte injectors and ended up using 1kzt Injectors. My reasoning was the original injectors were designed to run on ultra low sulfur diesel So an injector upgrade was in order anyway. I also had to upgrade my 2 gen 2 Cummins trucks to bigger injectors when the ultra low sulfur diesel came out And it brought both of them back to just slightly better than stock. my 2lte also has a mechanical 3L injection pump. With the 3L pump it is very simple to fine tune the timing and fueling for quicker starts and the best power and lowest smoke.
The cold start issue can also be remedied by rigging a switched wire directly to your low power glow plug relay. And a wire from one of your glow plugs directly to your glow plug light. This will let you know when your glows have power and how much. when your glows are on high the lite will be bright then go dim when switched to low power. Leave the glow plug swith on for a few minutes after a cold start to let the precups get warmed up. with this switch set up on mine I am now able to start my rig in the garage without getting a smoke screen In the house.

Awesome, thanks for the help!

Northwest Toyota is a great source in North America. Recently replaced the injectors in my rig (Hilux with a 2LTE engine) with genuine Toyota injectors from them.

Hell yeah! this is what I was looking for, I really appreciate it.
