Hey Greg, do the 12HTs have the same two stage injectors like th 1HD-T?

If so is it not been said that it is rarely the injector tip?

The 12HT is a single stage, so nope...at least that is what the manual says:-)

The little I know about nozzles is even less so with two stage, so the short answer is "I don't know." Do you mean it is rarely the tip that needs replacing, or the opening pressures of #1 and #2 stages that needs adjusting. Next time I run into the two injection techs I know, I will ask what difference they see in service life/part life requirements of a single stage DI nozzle vs a two stage DI nozzle.

Any techs lurking?

If you have access to Australian4WD Monthy, the Aug 2003 issue has a good artical on pumps and nozzles. The nozzle section confirmed what I have heard coming from a few techs.

I meant the tip rarely need replacing.

As you mentioned about the tips cupping, I always thought it was the fuel blasting the cup and eroding it.

I have seen tips that were ready to fall through the seat as they were so badly eroded and cupped.

Learn something new ever day.
