I have searched and found 2 inline injector service centers.
http://www.rceng.com/service.htm $24.00 - $28.50 per injector
http://www.cruzinperformance.com $12 per injector

If I can find a local shop to test and clean, is there any reason why I wouldn't want to use them over the 2 online shops?

Do I need to send them out, or can I try and clean and test them my self??
Anyone try it yet?

No.

I would call local speedshops and see who they recommend or who they send their injectors out to.

in the import world (honda/acura) rc engineering is where everyone sends their injectors to be cleaned...and after reinstalling them, notice a BIG difference in better gas mileage/back to originial mileage if older car, better throttle response, etc...

A REAL injector cleaning on the truck will do most, maybe 85%, that any shop would be able to do without need ing to take the injectors off the motor. The big thing you get when sending injectors out to most places is that they will balence them. You cant do that on the truck.

I use a 3M kit that shoots cleaner through the pulstion dampener and the truck actually runs on the cleaner for a 1/2hr or so. It works well. Be very careful as many shops will sell you a "fuel injector cleaning" which is a bottle of crap they pour in a tank.

I haven't owned my 80 since new, nor have I ever driven an 80 with less then 75k on the clock, so I dont know what throttle response to expect. What kind of symptoms (other then poor fuel economy) would I expect if this was something I would want to consider doing? At $12-24 per injector, it does not seem to be too exspensive, although I dont know how hard it is to remove and reinstall the injectors yourself.

On a side note, I have run the Chevron Techron Fuel Injector Cleaner through my system twice in the last 15k and have to say everything seems to run smooth, reasonable gas mileage and acceptable throttle response as far as I am concerned, just dont know HOW good things could be.

I too have used Cruizinperformance and was very satisfied with their work. The owner is very helpful and is willing to chat on the phone answering questions without making you feel like you are wasting his time. Well worth the money.

Dave, which 3m kit do you use?
