Understand that the specialist stated that there was over $9000 more in sound deadening material installed in the LX570 then in the LC. Wow that seems like a lot of money.

No way...
Simply can't be true and here's why: the LX base price is ~$10k more than the LC base price yet has standard features such as navigation, dual swivel adaptive headlights, LED taillights, variable suspension, power rear door, and numerous other changes. I seriously doubt Toyota would dump $9k worth of sound deadening into the LX and throw in another $7-8k worth of features for free.
I'm guessing this "specialist" was mistaken. Maybe he meant to say that for $9k you get additional sound deadening (among other things) in the LX verses the LC.

They sell a lot more LC's so they make more profit on the LC
Well there is definitely more sound insulation in an LX, but 9K seems like alot. That said, depending on how you calculate the pricing, it could actually be true. What Im thinking, is if you compare the amount spent on insulation for ONE LC compared to ONE LX, the difference could be 9k. However since Toyota would buy insulation for atleast 10,000+ vehicles a year, it could cost them alot less than 9k per vehicle.
