I'm dropping a note here for anyone that might be interested. We are trying to get a more organized club going here in Indiana. Folks from surrounding states are all welcome. We plan to have at least one event a month, two or more trips per year and we hope for trips to be centered in northern and southern Indiana as well. If you're interested in getting on the mailing list please PM me your email and phone and I'll get you on the mailing list. It would be great to see the folks who were around for the Hoosier Cruiser years be a part. We plan for heavier offroad stuff, touring stuff and gravel runs and whatnot. We are certainly open for trip ideas and help getting organized. If you're interested in getting on the mailing list please PM me your email and phone. Thanks

We sent the first batch of invites out this morning (6:00AM 7/13/23) to everyone we had email addressed for. If you didn't get the email, please check your SPAM folder, other reason would be don't have your email address.

Website is: Indiana Land Cruisers - Toyota Land Cruiser & 4x4 Enthusiasts - https://inlc.org/

If you like what you see, fill out the questionnaire and we'll circle back in a few weeks or so once we have the final touch's on the bylaws and incorporation. If you don't fil out the questionnaire, then we won't be able to communicate updates because that feeds the email list file. So please do that.

Thanks! Looking forward to seeing everyone soon!

I replied. Honestly living up in NW Indiana it is tough to get to a lot of the meets and greets, but I have made all of the ones at the dealership.

Hey guys,

Quick update on the INLC club and our path to formation.

We invited approximately ninety (90) people to Indiana Land Cruisers last Thursday (July 13th 2023). This list was broken into two email blasts.

Group #1) about 50 people we know from Indiana Land Cruisers Facebook Group, previous meetups, and friends we have known for years.
Group #2) about 40 TLCA members (list provided by TLCA)

Based on the information we collected, we will be forming the (official) Indiana Land Cruisers off-road club. This will be an officially chartered club by TLCA. Also, this will be a registered corporation in Indiana and 501(c)(7) not-for-profit organization. Hence, our annual dues will be protected from income taxes to the corporation. All proceeds will be used to fund the objectives in the mission statement:

This club exists for five primary reasons:
1) To bring together family and friends to enjoy Toyota 4x4’s, the out of doors and friendship to provide for the enjoyment of members and their families.
2) To bring the love of Toyota 4x4’s and the out of doors to the future generations.
3) Protect as well as enjoy our country’s natural resources.
4) Support local, state or area associations dedicated to land use and rights preservation.
5) Educate our members about responsible off highway behavior as well as the principles of leave no trace enjoyment of the outdoors.

Again, all dues will be used in their entirety to support these objectives.

When will the club official form? Well, we have a few more steps to complete yet....
1) EIN form the State of Indiana (by Aug 1st). TJ just completed the bylaws and articles of incorporations this week.
2) TLCA orientation / acceptance (goal by Sept 1st)
3) 501(c)(7) registration/recognition by IRS (goal by Sept 1st)
4) set up checking account/PayPal
5) We plan to start collecting dues shortly after our bank account is set up.

When will events start being planned? Right now!
Events - Welcome to INLC - https://inlc.org/events/
All our events (and TLCA events) will be posted on our Events page here.
  • July 2023 (Breakfast at Red Bridge - Cicero) details on calendar
  • August TBD (Mexican dinner out) - Arcadia
  • September TBD West Fork Distillery TBD (Westfield)
  • October TBD - Camping / Wheeling trip - Badlands Off-Road Park + Klumpe Family Campground (Attica)
This is getting long, so I will cut it short here... Just wanted everyone to know we're working hard on making this happen. We are thankful and excited for you and your families to be apart of it. Over the next two months, we'll start engaging more with all the details.

We have discussed this and what we would like to do is find someone in the different regions to organize a meet up every once in a while. I'm from your area originally and I would absolutely do my best to make whatever gatherings there are. In fact we discussed getting a group campsite at the state park or Dunewood for next year (nothing left this year unfortunately). In 2017 we had a group ride from New Buffalo up to Manistee and Silver Lake etc. I'm not saying you need to organize camp outs and what not but just have meet ups for a beer and burger to start. If you are interested we can have a phone call and discuss the mailing list in the that part of the state. We dont want anyone to be left out because of the distance, and since none of the organizers are retired yet we figured the best is to try to get mini groups started around the state as best we can. TJ

Quick update from yesterday. We had another 5 people commit to join INLC, so we are currently at 30 unofficial members (21 of which are TLCA members). TLCA membership is not required to join INLC, but encouraged. TLCA membership starts at $25/yr and you can join here. If you join, please let me know because we will be presenting our charter application to TLCA soon and the more members that are TLCA, the better.

With that said, we will not be accepting dues till September for INLC. We have not hard-set dues, but we're estimating $30/yr so we have enough to cover our expenses and a large event for members-only.

As TJ and I complete the formal (boring) stuff, we'll shift focus to the fun stuff such as events, meetups, rides very soon.

Tagging committed new members that are on Mud here:
@Josey1972 @Eric Sarjeant @Ktaylor @AAMC @JeffsLC @imratz @itbrokeagain @94SRUNNER @AndresFJC @fst aslp @Dparo @supercal29 @Ranchrider @booty @WTRT321 @4runnin2 @7schulz @Higgin @wiseinvestor @Hoosier100 @VIZTU1 @ColnagoJoe @ZRTactical @Gappy @gloomis @Bendy500 @WheelDrivenADV

Yeah, sounds good. I’ve been to Manistee quite a few times, mostly hiking that loop trail though. I’m down in Kentucky for the KYTLCA Toyota Trail Ride this upcoming week 20-23 so unfortunately I’m out for that Sunday meet up. Then me and a Jeep buddy are hitting the WYBDR starting Aug 4 from home. We’d take another rig if anyone was interested since another buddy had to back out. Shoot me a DM and I can send you my number when you have time.

For the few that are not already TLCA members, if you really enjoy reading about all things Toyota 4x4 then the monthly magazine you get with your TLCA membership is worth the price of admission alone. Great photography and adventure articles that members have written. Its good stuff.

I didn't add my tlca info during my signup as I didn't have it handy. ID 26318 currently with Kentucky affiliation.
