Hi Guys

I just imported a 1986 BJ73 and 1980 BJ43 and a complete Nissan Patrol TD drive train, the 43 needs a restoration and the Patrol drivertrain will be used in a 40.

So the only one that is ready to use is the BJ73,I had my dad buy it for me in Holland so it shows up here in Tx with a previous Dutch title and a Bill of sale from Belgium ;)

The lady at the DMV looked at al my paperwork like the cow that saw the first train ever passing buy ,she called and notified people from the DMV in Dallas and Austin to see what she needed to do and the result is that they want me to have all documents translated by a certified translator from Dutch to English.Just to be clear this is only the 3 part Title.

It is not the end of the world and besides the few 100$ expense no big deal,I just wanted to see what you guys have experienced with your local DMV

I remember reading a importing tread here where the dmv was acting difficult and the guy returned a few days later and had another person approving the same paperwork .......there is only one lady working in our small town and she already notified the main office so no chance of trying the same stunt

Let me know if anybody knows another way .....or.....if anybody knows a certified Dutch translator

The other thing that they want is a form A68 that needs to be filled in a by a anti theft inspector of some kind,I am going to do some research on this but if there is anybody near Dallas that already done this ,any info is deeply appreciated

Thanks

Joe

sounds like what I had to due in Ga. First was to have a international vin check , and sign off from a special unit. (uhh, he said unit) Then had to have the Spanish registration /title and papers translated and notarized.

I just imported a LJ71 from Japan. Had to have the paperwork translated from Japanese to English. I had checked with my local DMV ahead of time so I had this done prior to receiving the vehicle. I then had to have a VIN verification performed by a local police officer. He just verified that the VIN on the vehicle was the same as the paperwork. Took 3 minutes. I was in and out of the DMV in 20 minutes. Each state is different. I've hears some horror stories though.

Yep, reminds me of importing my BJ70 from Alberta into North Carolina....but of course, translating Canadian is much easier, eh? :bounce:

Met with an officer from the auto theft division to fill out the form A-68 and check my Bj73 ;)

One step closer.......now just need to get everything translated
