Anyone know a good importer who is cheap, but legal?
I am trying to bring back the '92 LJ-78 I bought here in Japan.

there are quite a few threads in forum about it.....give me until this weekend and can give you addresses for a couple places that do it. They are not cheap though...and the ones that are cheap have left people stranded without a vehicle they can register.

I was looking at getting a 70 series myself and researched everything up until dropping the money...and stopped and got the 100 series instead. Still want a 70 series but resigned myself to buying one already imported and registered somewhere else as it makes it infinitely more easy...even though then you can still get screwed depending on state of registration as all have different rules.

Good luck with that. I would LOVE to have a 70 series and came VERY VERY close to buying one locally about 3 years ago. I regret not buying it now.

okay here are my links....yes there is a limit on age to where you can import it into United States and register it for driving. You might be able to import it and then leave it in storage without driving it or using it for OFFROAD ONLY but that is a big IF... Read these two threads in entirety....visit 70 forum as there is a lot of experience there. After all of the info and research I decided I would buy one already in the states...or get with one of the recognized importers and just get one of there imports...but it is hit or miss:
