Hello to all in this community.

It took me a while, but I finally found a minidisc player out of Japan for a Prado 120. After months of looking one finally popped up and the price was right. The winning bid, three day shipping and a Japanese to US FM adapter cost about $215 in total. Japanese FM works from 70-95mhz so the adapter was necessary. I know that almost everyone in this sub doesn’t use minidiscs but I’ve amassed a few hundred over the years that don’t get played as often as the should. Everything is plug and play! All the steering wheel functions work, the screen shows all tracks, DVD, CD changer work seamless as well. Also I grabbed a FM Bluetooth transmitter off Amazon for about $16. The best quark is that the power button and the tune button are meant for RH drive. After a few days it should feel natural to make the switch. . Here are some photos of it installed and attached are some links.

Very cool! I'm 43 so I get it, but for the Millenials tuned in...well...explain what a "minidisc" is!!!

Haha. I haven’t thought about minidiscs in a while. Very cool. I still have some in my garage with a portable player.

I was using a portable MD player with the good old tape deck adapter since September of last year when I purchased my GX470. Sound quality just wasn’t what it should have been. It took me that long to hunt down the head unit. Glad I did. They are like little time capsules of my life every time I insert one.

No MD's in my music collection but I'm definitely old enough to appreciate this swap (I'm 49). Super cool......glad you're enjoying the upgrade! :)
