Hey guys,
Welp, since unloading my 40 for a ridiculously low price...;) I have now slimmed the payments down- got rid of the Subaru and got me a 2003 Tacoma. absolutely LOVE it. A pretty much stock limited with 91,000 on her. Bought it from the original owner who kept meticulous records... very very very psyched. DD and was able to talk :princess: into the xtra cab- my daughter' car seat fits perefectly (albeit a bit tight) in the center of the rear bench- locked into place with the seatbelts crisscrossed- she just puts her feet on the center console. Not bad.... but that's what the X3 is for anyway.

Needs new rubber- not going ridiculous, but thinking BFG AT's or similar (all input/ideas??) Was thinking bumpers, winch in the future- still keeping it a DD, but am VERY interested in seeing some moderate offroad...etc. Looking for ideas- so let 'em rip.

without further adieu... (however that's spelled :D) the porn:

Nice looking rig Jamie. I loved my Tacoma. Has the frame been replaced or at least treated yet? With only 91k you will have the truck for a long time. Does it have the 3.4 or the 2.7?

BFGs would be a good tire. I have also heard good things about the Cooper Discovery for a DD rig.

As for bumpers/lifts keep your eye out as there were a lot of accessories that went on sale when people took off before turning their trucks in to be crushed.

Hey Jason...
Yep- the frame has been treated and warranted for 15 years- looks fine, no issues. I was looking at the coopers too- heard good things about them. It has the 3.4 and loving it.

I plan to have this one for a long long time. so expect to see me at some gatherings for sure...

Good deal. The 3.4 is what I had and its a great little motor, 196k on mine and still ran great. Let me look in the garage I might have some parts left from my old truck. I think I still have a spare PS pump kicking around if you want it.

A stock Tacoma will go far with 31's. For you first mod think about a set of sliders. Talk to Mike Fox he does some great work.

BTW what did you pay for it?

Definately interested in any parts... make a list and let me know how much- i'll take 'em.

And 31's are what I had in mind... also- sliders are def up there on the list- something I can screw around with and not eff up too badly... :D

Just south of 12. good price for what I got. Everything comparable was in the 13-14 range and no 'records'. the p.o. is a 31 year vet of the police force- (take that however you will) but definately high and tight kind of guy.

these little bastards hold their resale... :hillbilly:

Thanks Rick- I'm looking forward to seeing what it will do.

Yes- Factory rear locker- i think it only engages when in 4wd... i'd like to change that- so i'm looking into it.

Came with the factory wheels too- i'd be interested in getting them 'redone' (i'm not really a fan of the american racing rims)- lots of pitting and oxidized. I think i saw on another thread you had some powdercoating done- you remember who that was? I'm digging the black on black.

I thinkt here were a problem with a number of tire companies because the manufacturer went belly up. I heard it was mainly a problem with the larger sizes but I might be wrong. I know that Pitbull was also having trouble.

I like 'em... I have a buddy that owns a tire shop near my house- I just shot him an email to see what he thinks.

I was checking out the Cooper Discoverer S/T C. damn nice- but pricey...

This is funny- i have the damn fever again... been spending most of day creating one hell of a Christmas list... lol.

Clean looking Taco. I am still amazed how well they keep their book. Good luck with it!

Nice looking truck, congrats. I put the Cooper Discoverer ST's on my '99 Tacoma and loved them in the snow. Didn't do much off road with the truck so can't comment there. When my truck got called to the crusher I pulled the Coopers and put them on my 40. I really miss that truck...
