Does anyone have a good place to source the right oem connector (ignition) to plug into this ignitor connector?

I don’t need a whole new ignition setup, just a new connector.

Thx

This should work? It wasnt for the ignitor, but appears to be a mate for that piece.

PM me your address and I will mail it to you.

i think i can help here , but where are the other Igniter Box & Coil Assy. connectors hiding here below ?

.

-
also ....... i can't say i have ever seen a late modle fully transistorized ignition coil it's piggy-back module box set up assy. mounted to the older Coil w/ Ballast Resister ( points based ONLY ) set-up rear upper cylinder head location like you have going on there ........?

.

- How come you chose to mount your updated
FJ60 / FJ40 8/80-1987 BIG CAP Distributor Ignition Assy. there instead of on the passenger side center upper fender location , where there are captured nuts , and provisions to install the feet of the hoop-bracket securely in-place ...

.

- the moment i saw that , the word
Heat came to my mind , the fundamental reason TOYOTA updated the older black metal boxes , both Points based igniters/ coil assy's , and the next-gen fully transistorized MED. cap set-up's like the Triangle-Cap , and it's buddy the Round MED cap too .

.
Was because the internal electronics a way more sensitive to Heat , and also generate there own heat inside the 89620- / 89621- Module Box ...

.
Hence the new modern-age aluminum module boxes had air-fins on the sides 1st; gen , then the later 2nd gen.'s had the air cooling fins on both tops and sides ....

.
like i mention above , i have not ever seen any late modle piggy-back coil w/ igniter assy. mounted like you have going on ....?

.

- it would be good if anyone else has input here , or fact-based technical words to add or share here in this thread related to this on-topic topic ....:) :wrench: :wrench: :wrench:

I sent the OP the connector in post #3 and I think this case is closed.

Interesting. I bought the current ignitor, coil, and distributor from the same person that I bought my current 2F from. I was pretty new to the FJ40 world then and didn't give it much thought. Put it all in and didn't give it much thought until I had the issue with the broken connector recently.

Yes, the other connections are just out of sight in those pics. One to the distributer and an open connector for a tach that I don't have.

I currently have a large solenoid for a dual battery setup mounted on the passenger side fender. I've been wanting to change that setup, so i'll look at moving the ignitor over there when I do that.

Evan - Your connector will work great, thanks. I'll put it in this weekend.

Matt - If you have more of the connectors, i'd like to buy a few to replace some other connectors that I have and have some spares.

Thanks

Andy

creating ab open Female Connector pigtail assy. for your TACH. needs and wants is as eazy-peezy as 1 , 2F , 3FE .........

using all OEM electrical parts is the way here , and so is a waterproof O-Ring Sealed Next-Generation single pin round genuine SUMITOMO plug-crimp-plate = RPM's all day .
