Ignition Fuse problem

Hi All,

LAst week in a trip through south Morocco the anti-theft system went mad in the middle of a dry lake and switched off the fuel pump and the ignition.

I have managed to solve the fuel pump by bypassing a broken sensor in the back door which was making the fail but, although I can open and close the doors with the remote, the ignition fuse is not receiving any current at all.

I have pulled a direct positive wire to the fuse from the battery but in 3 weeks I have to pass the local Vehicle Inspection ITV (Don't know how its called in the USA) and for sure they are not going to like it !!!

I have taken out all the plastics and plates beneath the steering wheel but I don't know where to start. The only wiring I have is the Haynes FZJ80 book but mine is a LX450 and I think something changes about the alarm and antitheft systems in the LX versus the FZJ.

Any help diagnosing or solving this issue will be very appreciated !!! I need to use the car and in this condition I am afraid I bust something more if I keep on bypassing the fuse with the 12v direct wire.

Here you have some pictures of what I am dealing with right now. I need to know how to find the cut in the wiring which gives voltage to the ignition fuse (7.5A). I have arrived to a big switch under the key cilinder but cannot openit. Any clues on next steps? Can I take something else out without compromising the rebuild? Its the firsat time I get so deep in dismantling the car......

So, I don't know how to keep on going....I feel stuck and somehow I am thinking there must be an easier way to check this.

Help !!!

By the way. More info: I get no CEL. If I bypass the ignition fuse (7.5A) and give it voltage with the 12v direct wire from the battery, CEL comes up in the dash panel and turning the key will make engine start.

But, when I turn off the key to stop the engine, engine wont stop until I pull out the 12 volts direct wire from the ignition fuse.

A friend of mine has told me this morning that most cars have a direct 12V cable which feeds all the fuses. It seems weird to me but I would like to know, to which two places do both ends of the ignition fuse link. And also how to test voltage on those two ends.

When I start the engine with the "bypass" solution, everything runs smooth and fine. I came back from Morocco to the north of Spain with this configuration (+1200 miles).

I have a electrical wiring diagram which means nothing to me because I don't know where to look !!

This is the diagram, but I don't know how to "read" it and then go to check with the voltmeter.......any hint will be appreciated !!!

Help !!!:mad::mad::mad:

I found this other diagram in which shows the fuses and fuse links of the charge system. I am missing voltage also in the "charge" fuse which is located under the bonnet in the main fuse box (7.5A as well as the ignition fuse).

But the car, as I already told you guys, works fine as far as I bypass the ignition fuse with the 12v direct wire from the battery. Alternator is fine. Voltage in the dual battery setup is fine. I get readings with the engine on of 1º4v from the OBDII ScanGauge system I have.

What am I missing?

Going to bed now. I'll continue trying to diagnose tomorrow.

Please help !!!

Any hint, doesn't matter which, will be very appreciatted

on your fist diagarm i think you have tyhe wrong fuse, folow the wire off the battery, first figure out what that block is it looks like it says flam2, should be a fuisble link, then go to the little doubble aroow thing that should be a diode if there is anything that says s1 s2 and so on thoes are splices, you should be able to look them up. if it says c1 c2 ecrt thoes are conectors........ hope this helps
