so is that a picture of the "rotor" off the AC compressor? if so, did you have to remove the compressor to get it off?

This thread is about changing the bearing in the idler pulley, no need to mess with the compressor.
 
As tools said, that pic was the bearing in the idler pulley. THere are two on the belt system, one for the Alternator and one for the AC. I do not think you can take the AC compressor apart and put a new bearing in it AFAIK
 
Just did mine tonight and I see mine doesn't have a washer either between the nut and the bearing. The PO did a lot of crack-induced PM so nothing surprises me anymore.

I had to put a 12mm washer between the outer shield and the bearing. Otherwise, with every revolution, the nut would just keep tightening because the outer shield effectively connected the pulley to the spindle. It seems to work fine now, I just torqued it to 29ft/lbs IIRC.
