I also have someone we can use. My dad is a fisheries/forestry biologist with years of experience. He lives in cali but has told he can help with resources and information. Just an option.... my brother is a structural engineer if we need something like that.

I want to get more involved! When is the next work weekend?

Well , I think the resources are here. I know Barnes works in the forestry field, and Martin is also in the erosion control biz. I also ran into a guy at one work weekend that does the same thing my wife does for another countyin the State... i'll have to ask her who he was...

But, I think we could get the right minds in place to help keep the trails up to par, along with the manpower to impement them...

darin, please tell us what the 30ft rule is...if you can...

I need a PM on that also..... I think we need a uwharrie sub forum that you can control who does and doesn't have access to so we can talk more openly about it. Woody is the only one that can set that up and give you command over it.

Actually, that rule is available on the US Forest Service website. It is a public rule and is available for all to read. You just have to find the correct document.

I am going to be writing down everything tonight to take to them tomorrow, so if you have any last minute ideas please get them up tonight.

And anyone else willing to help John Deere work on our trail ?

Adam, I do not know when they are going to do this. I will try to get info this weekend, or atleast get a good contact number and either work it or pass it on to Brian.

As i said earlier, they would like to fix up our trailhead where the camping place is at. They would like to do some cooking / campfire spots and put up better fencing to keep the vehicles out. Overall make it better.

Then we will be talking about putting a rock garden in right there also back up behind the camping area back there. It already has alot of rocks already there to use.

Will post up some info here later. Was a late night. Had some fun but now need a new saw, tired of my old one acting up while i need it to work. It is over 20 years old now. The forest took its final toll on the Heeps for the year. A bunch left on rollbacks.

Contact Rodger @ the STLCA they have worked with all these issues while trying to keep Tellico open!!!
