Is it a M416 or a M101?

Owner says "Don't use it anymore but it will haul heavy, heavy stuff (ammo trailer). Pintal hitch for reciever comes with it. Good 10 Ply tires, safety chains, tongue stand. Ready for work. It even has an emergency break! There is very little rust in the bed (no rust holes) or anywhere on it for that matter. Its in good solid shape, brake works, tires are good (no spare). Very, very usable."

He's asking $750. What do you think? These are the only pics I have so far.

The wheel is definitly the type found on a M416. The Candian M101 uses steel wheels common with the Land Rover trucks. I don't think the wheels could be interchanged so this appears to be a M416.

Nice, thanks for the info, guys! He just told me the tail lights are there, but the lenses are broken.

What's the easiest way to wire these for 12V? Assuming it's a 24V......

m416 for sure. are you still planning on keeping the 24V setup? if not, you can just rip it out, and get a 12V wiring kit and put that in. since the lenses are broken, you're better off going all new anyway. unless you were partial to the oem lights...

I think you should buy it. Those trailers are getting hard to find...

Probably not. It would primarily be towed behind my FJ40, which is 12V, or my Dodge, also 12V, so there's really no reason to keep the 24V. Thanks for you input!

Yeah, I've been looking for several years now...........and this one is in my backyard!!!!

Looks like my M-416. If it is in as good shape as it looks and it's in your backyard you may want to grab it. Paid almost $600 for mine and it was 8 hr. one way to get it.

Going to look at it tonight after work tonight..... :)

It's definitely an M416.

Conversion to 12v is easy. Simply swap out the 24v light bulbs for 12v, then adapt or splice into the wiring harness at the front.

If the wiring harness is getting stiff and shows cracks, you might want to replace it with a 12v light and harness kit. Be advised that the plastic light housings break easily. I've busted mine twice over now. I'm debating whether to go to late model military light housings with larger red lenses (the old M100 lenses are pretty small), or build a metal enclosure around the plastic housings.

As far as the lunette goes, don't cut it up. The lunette alone is a couple hundred to replace. Piecing together an entire assembly can wind up costing almost as much as some trailers. So if you want a different hitch setup, my advice is to set the military lunette setup aside, and build one similar to what I did on this civilian Jeep trailer.

Thanks for the info on the lights and wiring.

When I get one, I'm not replacing the lunette. I already have a M105A2 and pintle hitches for both my Dodge and the FJ40. Besides, I dig the pintle/lunette combo. :D

Well, I bought it. Thought I could talk him down, but he knew what he had. I gave him $700, but he threw in a pintle hitch for it. Pics to come.......
