Wow this is not good for Icon..... Please let us know now the warranty process goes.... this is how to tell what kinda company they are, FOLLOW UP!!!!

Did they replace it under warranty?

No unfortunately the local vendor blamed the client, the installer and everyone else even though its a very common issue to see. ICON wont cover warranty outside the USA in any case. In some cases they were repaired by King Shocks Australia who carry more icon spare parts than the retailer, some ppl binned them and bought something else. Im sure ICON can be a very good product but i cant recomend them here in AU. Hopefully the new distributor can sort out the issues but without a warranty, i still cant recommend them.

What's up Jeff, good to hear from you. Sorry you couldn't make it to this years LCDC. I hope it gets resolved too.
Yeah, I realized way too late that they limited the amount of people to attend this year. I guess I’ll just have to make it to next years. I bought the same Icon Black Friday sale from MetalTech as you but haven’t installed mine yet. We’ll see how mine they out. If you’re at Expo East this year, we’ll have to meet up.

Which model did you guys get and when was it delivered?

I ordered mine from 4wheelparts as their price over the phone was 10% cheaper than metaltech. But mine took months to deliver, I believe sometime in feb 2018. I put them on May 2018 and driven over 30k miles. No issues I am aware of. I have the 2.5 CDCV model. Seeing soo many issues has me doubting Icon quality even though I have been rough on them whenever possible.

I ordered them through metal tech on black Friday 2018 special, but didnt get them delivered until beginning of January. They are the stage 2 kit 2.5 CDVC also.

That's the crazy thing is that I havent beat my up at all or done much offroading. Only hard offroading I've done was LCDC amd that's traveling at about 5-10mph. I'm a bit concerned about the other side also even though it looks fine.

I was thinking of getting OEM shock to get her back up and running while I wait for a response from ICON. I called the dealership and they quoted me $120.09 for 1 shock, but online I'm seeing then for $40 + shipping. No sure if this is the right part number 48530-69435?

48530-69435 is the correct part number for 2008-2009 Land Cruiser: Olathe Toyota Parts Direct
48530-69495 is the correct part number for 2010-2015 Land Cruiser: Olathe Toyota Parts Direct
48530-69695 is the correct part number for 2016-2018 Land Cruiser: Olathe Toyota Parts Direct

All are about $40 + shipping from a Toyota dealer. Your dealer was either quoting the wrong part or really trying to gouge you on price.

HTH

Awesome thank you for the information. Just ordered it.

Got a response from ICON, they want me to send it in so they can evaluate the damage and determine if its covered under warranty. Just paid $108.91 to ship it from Florida to California. I hopefully they'll reimburse me for it once they look at the shock.

Did you overnight it? Yikes.

I bet icon will honor the warranty. Wouldn't make sense not to. I had a failure with a billet lower control arm and without question Icon sent me a replacement within days and a return label for the damaged goods so they could inspect what went wrong and how to correct it.
Good company to trust in.
Thats my experience

I hope I have the same experience.

Sorry guys I haven't been active, but its been crazy with work, up keep on the house and the truck. Update icon was amazing, they rebuild the shock at no cost to me other then what I paid to ship it to them. Took about 6 weeks to get it back after sending it to them and then about another month for me to find the time to install them.

Also only issue I encountered with the install, was removing the temp shocks I had on. I placed the bushing and washers wrong on the temp shocks and the bushing worked their way over the nut. Had to cut the temp shocks off to reinstall.

6 weeks sounds horrible. I thought they get this done in 1 week?
