Like it says, I switched to Icons on the front from stock and had a terrible torque steer issue so I tried the UCA's from Light Racing but although it is better it still doesn't work for me. I am in the process of returning to stock and I was wondering if anyone else was taking this route? I pull a 20' jet boat and a 25' travel trailer and it is not comfortable to try and keep the truck pointed down the road with the ICON/Light Racing combo.

I've been running Icons on all four corners (for close to two years now), have the SPC UCA's (light racing) and never had any issues as you're describing.
I've never ran just suspension up front either so maybe that is an issue in its self (spring rates / front rear not jiving)...Did you have your alignment set? all four tire pressure equal? no help and probably items you've checked off your list - just replying
that sucks

Yeah, I don't know if just the front is causing it but the other check offs have been covered. The alignment guy has tried every thing and when either trailer is on I can change lanes by going on the gas or off.

well thats not good - smart to remove them i guess - did Icons customer service reps have any helpfull feedback

Why did you just run Icon's on the front? Did you only want the leveling aspect that they would bring to the front end? Is the dampening on the Icon shocks that you purchased adjustable? If so, maybe soften them up and see what happens. I have Icons on all four corners with adjustable valving. I experienced what you describe to some degree. The car pulled to the right under acceleration. I installed an adjustable Panhard rod in the rear and that fixed 90% of my problem. I do realize moving away from stock will create quirks. I'll live with some but not a lot. I also have a diff drop kit installed and light racing control arms. It's too bad you can't get your problem figured out. I wish I could give you some other ideas.

I went with just the fronts because I had 180,000 miles and wanted to replace the shocks. The suspension shop had good experiences with the Icons but there are no LCs sold in Canada they had no experience with 200s.
I don't know if they contacted Icon or not but I will ask today.

Even if you only replace the fronts, it shouldn't be causing torque steer.

Does it pull only when you are on the gas or does it also pull a little bit off-throttle? When you hook up your trailer, how much is it compressing your rear suspension? Is your front staying pretty level, compressing, or even un-weighting with the trailer? Have you had them check your ball joints and bushings for play? What height do you have your front icons set to? Have you had the KDSS checked to make sure it was put back together correctly?

Sorry for all of the questions but I don't think the Icons themselves are the issue. Just trying to think of other things to check for besides what Willy already mentioned.

It pulls right on the gas and left under de-acceleration. I have air bags in back that were installed 60,000 miles ago and long before the "herding of the cats" showed up. The front end guy can't find anything loose or worn and the shocks were set to the lowest position. I will check the KDSS. I pulled the boat before the Icons and there was absolutely no issues. I will mention the steering box but I will be surprised if that was responsible, again, no problem before the change.

Someone else on mud had a similar issue a few months back.

IIRC, it turned out to be a problem in his steering column or some such phantom.
They tried everything you are checking, but it was elsewhere.

Anyone remember who that was?

Post a picture of the alignment sheet.

So I found out that I had the Icon's on all four corners (duh) and we have taken them off and all is well again. Factory shocks and the Light Racing UCA's and we just got back from Dawson City Yukon. 6400 miles with a 25' trailer and no problems at all. Tracks correctly again. On a related note, I have a set of lightly used Icon shocks for sale. I understand they are the bomb. Lol.
